Itanagar, Jan 20, 2013: The Arunachal Pradesh Rural Development (RD) and Public Health Engineering (PHE) departments have agreed for convergence of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Assurance ( MG-NREGA) scheme works with Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) at gram panchayat level.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting here yesterday chaired by Power, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Tanga Byaling, official sources said today.

Itanagar, Dec. 22, 2012: Arunachal Pradesh is all set to achieve better sanitation standards with the Centre promising to provide all the funds required for Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) programme to make the state open defecation free by 2022.

Itanagar, April 21, 2012: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has awarded Nirmal Gram Puraskar (NGP) to 17 gram panchayats from three districts - Lohit (14), Upper Subansiri (2) and Lower Dibang Valley (1).

Addressing the second NGP Award ceremony organized here yesterday, Tuki said it was only by ensuring better sanitation that the health of our countrymen could be improved and good health alone could ensure productivity, happiness and better quality of life in rural India.
