Young envoys for clean station: Come May, Tatanagar passengers will get hygiene tips from schoolkids

Ranchi University focuses on sanitation

Jharkhand, April 6, 2012: Ranchi University (RU) has finally woken up to the stinking reality of poor sanitation facilities across its campuses.


After years of neglect, the varsity has decided to upgrade toilets at all colleges under it and also postgraduate departments. According to sources, it has asked the heads of all 24 postgraduate departments as well as college authorities to come up with status reports of sanitation facilities available on the premises and the financial assistance they required for revamping them.

Chief Minister to review government performance on drinking water, sanitation & water resources

Ranchi, Feb 7, 2012: Chief minister Arjun Munda will review achievements of all the government departments in the first three quarters of the current fiscal. The review meeting will start on Wednesday and continue for two days.


Sources in the chief minister's secretariat said on the first day the chief minister will review progress of home, energy, industry, rural development, urban development, tourism, forest, transport, drinking water and sanitation and water resources.

25% reservation for BPL students in private schools: Government

Ranchi, May 12, 2012: Every private school should have 25% reservation at entry level. This was decided in a meeting convened by deputy commissioner K K Soan to discuss the implementation of the Right to Education Act on Saturday. Principals of 58 ICSE and CBSE-affiliated schools, district education superintendent and district transport officer were present in the meeting.
