Jaipur, Oct. 18, 2013: The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) will launch a special month-long sanitation drive in all 77 wards of the city. The drive has been planned keeping in view the approaching festive season.
The drive will be run from October 18 till November 18. JMC’s chief executive officer Jagroop Singh Yadav on Thursday issued directions to all zone commissioners to monitor the sanitation work closely.
The zone commissioners were directed to conduct surveys of their areas from 7 am to 10 am and again from 2 pm to 5 pm and then submit a report to the health commissioner every day. The health commissioner would submit the report to the JMC CEO.
Under this drive, all sanitation workers will perform duties in proper uniforms. They will clean historical places, public toilets, educational institutes and religious places on priority basis. More than 5,000 workers will be pressed into action.
Yadav ordered the officials to clean drains, manholes on both sides of roads and garbage bins daily.
He also directed the officials to remove banners, pamphlets and posters from public places and take action against those who deface public property under Rajasthan Property Defacement Act 2005. Fogging would also be conducted near fruit and vegetable markets. (Source: DNA)
